Colossians 3:16- "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
The Choir leads “songs, hymns and spiritual songs” in a variety of anthems and arrangements that serve Christ’s Word of Truth in His worship in the sanctuary at our 11:00 am service. A smaller ensemble from the choir leads worship in our 8:45 am service. The choir also present worship concerts that reach our membership and community in our annual Smiley Gregg Memorial concert, December concerts, Sacred Patriotic Concerts, and to Walker State Faith and Character Based Prison. Any Adult or Youth interested in becoming part of the Chancel Choir ministry is welcome to join any time of the year! Come and worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth in rehearsals and in our services!
Canterbury Bell Choir
Youth Vocal Training (grades 6th-12th)
Taught by Kelly Stultz, 3:00-4:00 pm Sundays starting September 18 in the third floor choir room.
Youth are invited to group and individual vocal training through vocal exercises and learning sacred vocal literature. Students are welcome to bring sacred solo music of their choice to meet individual goals including school choir, solos, and community singing. They will also be given small group and individual songs with the goal of leading in DFUMC sanctuary worship.
A parent and youth interest meeting will be on August 21st, 6:00 pm, choir room, third floor. See you then!
In our contemporary-style “Encounter” worship service, we desire just that. To have a powerful, intimate encounter with the one true God, closely following the direction of the Holy Spirit. We believe that our worship is a double-edged sword, in that not only do we glorify God by the lifting of our voices, but that is our greatest weapon in fighting against the dark forces, principalities and wickedness in high places as well (Ephesians 6:12). We invite you to join us each Sunday as we minister to the heart of The Father and worship together in Spirit and in Truth!
Are you interested in singing and playing with our worship team to lead others in worship, or serving in one of our volunteer media roles? We would love for you to join our team.
