What We Believe

At Dalton First United Methodist Church,
everything we do is centered on Jesus.

We are a community rooted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we come to know and experience the fullness of God's unconditional love. We believe that by trusting in Jesus, we are made right with God—not because of anything we’ve done, but because of what God has done for us through the cross.
On the cross, Jesus took on our sin and brokenness so that we could be forgiven, healed, and restored into right relationship with God. This is grace—God’s free gift to us—and it's the foundation of our faith.

God's Love for the World

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
— John 3:16–17

Faith That Saves

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
— Romans 10:9

Grace, Not Works

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God—not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9
